The major cause of absence from work in the UK, one of my major orthopaedic specialities.
"Slipped Disc"
A common description of a cause of back/leg pain which may vary in intensity from slight
'displacement' to a full-blown disc bulge. In extreme situations surgery is the final option,
but the majority can be assisted very well with a combination of physical therapies often
resolving the problem completely. I use a combination of acupuncture, to realign skeletal
structures and reduce muscle spasm, laser to stimulate up-take of cellular oxygen and enhance
healing of damaged tissues and heat to improve circulation. I also use the Russian S.C.E.N.A.R.
device to "pull" misaligned tissue back into place. (See therapy section for full details)
Acupuncture and all the other therapies mentioned are applicable to the treatment of spinal
arthritis, from Ankylosing spondylitis, Scheurmanns disease, Osteo and Rheumatoid types.
I have been able to reduce many people's pain and improve mobility for literally hundreds of people.
Case 1
Mrs T of Mortimer (Age 52)
History of neck and low back pain, gradual worsening of osteoporosis and osteo-arthritis, less and less
mobility, more and more pain. 8 treatments later from being confined to a chair indoors we have sufficient
improvement to take a bus into Reading and feel much more comfortable.
Case 2
Mrs h of Abingdon (Age 60)
Some years history of back pain, surgery carried out on neck to attempt an easing of disc narrowing,
partly successful, rest of spine worsening and becoming more restrictive to movement. 10 treatments
with acupuncture and deep infra-red have eased the situation to being able to play gentle badminton
without pain.
Case 3
Mr Mc D of Wokingham (Age 49)
15 years ago lumbar spine surgery for disc prolapse, pain since and poor mobility,
works hard in manual road repair. Acupuncture,S.C.E.N.A.R., laser and deep infra-red have helped
create a marked improvement on the low-back pain and the linked sciatica which has been affecting
both legs from hips to ankles.
