How it works

The EiS system analyses the interstitial fluid of the body by application of a low intensity DC current. The low voltage current used by the EIS is known to only pass through interstitial fluid in the body. As interstitial fluid is located outside the membrane of the cell, and not buffered as is the case with blood, measurements reflect cell activity and thus organ activity.

The EIS System can detect over 69 physiological parameters within the human body and 19 glandular and organ systems within minutes. The EIS System evaluates the tissues of your organs, 69 physiological parameters and 19 functional anatomy systems of your body and provides you with repeatable 89 to 95 clinical precision accurate data with no operator bias involved.

Bio impedance or electrical scanning of the body was established scientifically in the 1940's. It is used in major medical centres and research facilities to reliably determine cell membrane capacitance and phase angle, intracellular and extracellular water content, body lean and fat mass. Application of Ohms law to the biological system allows the EIS to obtain information on areas of lesser resistance, normal resistance and higher resistance allowing the areas traversed to be evaluated as normo-functioning, or lesser conductivity of the tissues is amplified significantly in the presence of functional abnormalities.

Conducting the EIS scan

The patient is connected to the via 6 electrodes connected via a USB box to a computer. Measurements are made by 1.28 Volt signals during 3 different scans taking a total time of 3 minutes. The recorded measurement data is applied to several computer statistical and mathematical algorithms. The computer software displays all the results on different screens and windows. The practitioner then analyses/interprets the information and makes decisions accordingly.

The gives a very comprehensive overview of the functioning of the body A dynamic 3D image is created and colour coded to give a picture of where imbalances and pathologies are occurring, and whether the areas of imbalance are hyperfunctioning or hypofunctioning. Additional report screens include: detailed evaluation of each body acid/base balance, interstitial electrolyte, hormonal and neuro transmitter balance, oxidative stress and evaluation of body composition including lean mass, fat mass and hydration. Assistance is further provided to the practitioner in the form of recommendations on further medical tests, nutrition and micro nutrition, and suggestions for herbal, homeopathy and acupuncture.
